“Engaging Young Men Before Extremists Do” was among the first cases of AI being used successfully for social and media research at scale. The Persuasion Engine created and deployed a complete AI-powered system for the study, including the AI interviewers and AI-animated video personalities that conducted audience research and media testing. The study identified and tested narratives and media interventions that effectively persuade vulnerable young men to resist anti-democratic radicalization and political violence.
